Though the Royals aimed for a clean sweep, the Astros had other plans, taking the final game on Sunday with a 7-3 victory. The series may not have ended the Royals' way, but it sure wasn't short on excitement.

Let's break down Sunday’s showdown. The Astros' Yordan Alvarez was a force at the plate, blasting a crucial three-run homer – his third of the season. This was a game-changer, putting the Astros on the path to victory. Meanwhile, Jeremy Peña was another big contributor, driving in three runs, while Chas McCormick was nothing short of impressive with his bat, going 3-for-4 and crossing the plate three times.

On the mound, Hunter Brown was in fine form, improving his record to 4-1. He delivered six solid innings, striking out nine Royals batters and allowing just one earned run. Unfortunately for him, his run of scoreless innings ended at 28. But with a performance like that, I don't think he'll be losing any sleep.

Moving to the Royals: despite knocking out 11 hits, they struggled to convert those into runs, leaving seven men stranded on base. Jonathan India and Salvador Perez both enjoyed multi-hit games, showing there's plenty of fight in this team. Bobby Witt Jr. deserves a shoutout for extending his hitting streak to a league-leading 19 games. That takes discipline and consistency, which he clearly has in spades.

As for the Royals' pitching, Kris Bubic had a challenging day. In his five innings, he gave up four runs, which allowed Houston to build an early lead that Kansas City couldn't come back from.
